Doug Anderson & Chard deNiord will read from their new collections of poetry.   Anderson is author of several volumes of poetry including, most recently, Horse Medicine.   He is also author of the memoir, Keep Your Head Down: Vietnam, the Sixties, & a Journey of Self-Discovery.   DeNiord’s brand new collection of poetry is Interstate.   He is author of five previous volumes of poetry as well as a collection of essays & interviews, Sad Friends, Drowned Lovers, Stapled Songs, Reflections & Conversations with Twentieth Century American Poets.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Kevin Cullen will sign books at the Ziff Gallery Open House & Dedication at the UMass Journalism Department, Integrative Learning Center S414, UMass, Amherst.   Cullen is UMass alum & a journalist at the Boston Globe. Join Steven Tracy in celebrating the publication of his new book, Hot Music, Ragmentation, & the Bluing of American Literature.   Tracy is a professor of Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts here in Amherst.   He served as Fulbright Senior Specialist at the University of Konstanz in Germany & also as ChuTian Scholar at Central China Normal University.   He has authored, edited, coedited, or introduced nearly thirty books.   A singer-harmonica player, he has opened for B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, among others.

Deborah Gorlin will read from her recent collection of poetry, Life of the Garment.   Gorlin, who teaches, at Hampshire College, won the 2014 May Sarton New Hampshire Poetry Prize for the collection.
