Amherst’s own Patricia Everett will talk about her new book, The Dreams of Mabel Dodge: Diary of an Analysis with Smith Ely Jelliffe, at the Kinsey Memorial Garden behind the Jones Library, 43 Amity Street, Amherst.   The reading of Dodge’s dreams will feature Django Ellenhorn as Jelliffe, Jane Kristal as narrator of footnotes, & Patricia Everett as Mabel.   Mabel Dodge Luhan (1879-1962), a wealthy American patron of the arts, was associated with the Taos art colony which is known as a locus for, among others, D. H. Lawrence, Georgia O'Keeffe, & Ansel Adams.   Everett is a psychologist in private practice in Amherst & the author of Corresponding Lives: Mabel Dodge Luhan, A.A. Brill, & the Psychoanalytic Adventure in America, as well as A History Of Having A Great Many Times Not Continued To Be Friends: The Correspondence Between Mabel Dodge & Gertrude Stein, 1911-1934.   Please note: rain date is Tuesday, June 29 or, failing that, Thursday, July 1st.
