Ehud Havazelet will read from recent work.   Havazelet is author of two volumes of short stories—What Is It Then between Us?, & Like Never Before—as well as a novel, Bearing the Body.   His work has appeared in Tri-Quarterly, Ploughshares, The New York Times, DoubleTake, New England Review, The Southern Review & other journals.   Two of his books have been New York Times Notables of the year.   He is winner of the Wallant Award & both the California & Oregon Book Awards for fiction.   His work has been translated into seven languages.   Co-sponsored by the Yiddish Book Center.

Join local author Bill Pfeiffer in celebrating the publication of his new book, Wild Earth, Wild Soul: A Manual for an Ecstatic Culture.   Pfeiffer, aka “Sky Otter,” is the founder of Sacred Earth Network which implemented leading edge visions for almost 20 years.  In that time, Bill made Russia a second home—having traveled there 42 times—giving him a rare cross-cultural perspective.   He has 25 years of experience in Re-evaluation Counseling & Vipassana meditation, & has undergone extensive training with Siberian shamans as well as with Joanna Macy & John Perkins.   He has also spent much time in the US Southwest learning about Native medicine ways & the crucial importance of the petroglyphs & pictographs.

Amherst son Seth Sherwood will talk about his recent book, Trains Make U-turns: 5 Simple Steps to Get Your Life on Track.  Sherwood traveled & worked extensively in Latin America.   He has coordinated various business & community projects in Chile, Guatemala & Honduras.   He was an elementary & high school teacher in Orange County for 16 years before beginning a career as a Dale Carnegie performance consultant & bilingual (Spanish) keynote speaker & facilitator.
