Poetics of Visibility in the Contemporary Arab American Novel. Naous’s book explores how recent Arab American novels negotiate queer desire, music, Western & Middle Eastern art, gender, & relationships between other minorities. These poetics enable readers to see the nuance & richness of Arab American experience. Naous ultimately argues that fiction creates crucial spaces for reimagining & redefining intercultural relationships.
