Matthew Simon, who grew up in Amherst, returns to read from his the first book in a new mystery series set in Boston, The Chosen Few.     Marsha Wagner, wrote that “it is an intelligently written, cleverly plotted tale, populated with interesting, eccentric yet believable characters, most especially" the private investigator, Max Lovely, himself.   Simon is working on a sequel.

Come celebrate the publication of two new books in the ‘Armchair Travel Series’ by Elizabeth Trahan — Come with me to China! & Come with me to India!   Trahan who was born in Berlin & grew up in Czechoslovaka & Vienna & ended up teaching at the University of Massachusetts, has writen several memoirs — Walking with Ghosts: A Jewish Childhood in Wartime Vienna & Ten Dollars in my Pocket: The American Education of a Holocaust Survivor.   Both of which she read from here to great acclaim   Her new books are written for those who are interested in faraway places but may not be able or willing to travel — & for those who are widely travled & interested in reading the accounts of others.   The books are illustrated with her own photographs.
